Make it look nice!
Hi, I love CheqBook so far. I tried MINT the other day and the one thing I loved about it was the look and feel. What really really loved was that my bank was supported! So I am glad that you guys are not using Yodlee but are rather using Intuit to get the banking data.
I know the software is new so the look is lacking, but it would be nice the make it look good cause I want you guys to be super successful!!
I am a software engineer who happens to own a gas station as well. I have written my own back office system for the store and was using QuickBooks to try to manage the place.
I also wish there was a way I could import all the past transaction into Cheqbook but you isn't seem to support CSV format. I am going to write my own CSV to (supported file) conversion tool to do this. Conversion from quickbooks to cheqbooks is another item that you should concentrate on. I was trying out Xero the other day and the conversion process was what put a stop to it.
If you guys need some free coding help, man I am more then willing to take on a side project.

I am a CPA looking for a simple solution for my existing and new Quickbooks users
You need to set yourself apart with a easy Quickbooks conversion
I setup a brand new client into your system and was pleased with the simplicity
However missing items- I love icons - how about a quick Write a check, add an account, make a journal entry, and a preformated payroll summary journal entry

Shahzad,
Thanks for your feedback. We appreciate it.

We will continue to improve the design. The idea is to keep animation and visual flourishes to a minimum as Cheqbook is mean to be a highly responsive app that people use to get work done. That being said it can still look at lot better.
What specifically did you think needs improvement?

Currently, transactions can be added by linking an account, manual upload transactions as .ofx or .ifx files, or entering them manually one by one.
We have a ticket created to add csv import as a feature. If you want to add older transactions I would suggest using the manual upload with .ofx/.ifx files
from your bank using the steps below.https://cheqbook.zendesk.com/entries/22471563-How-to-upload-transactions
We have had a user successfully convert a .csv file to .ofx and then upload that, but that is a lot of work. We can't guarantee the results.

Thanks for the offer! We would need to talk more offline about where we might be able to work together.

Jim,
Thanks for giving Cheqbook a try.
> You need to set yourself apart with a easy Quickbooks conversion
Thanks! We currently are researching two approaches.
- Import almost everything via the Quickbooks Web Connector.
This is a thorough but complicated process. It requires a local copy of Quickbooks and a lot of patience.
- Import contacts and items
This is a less useful process but simpler to get started. This would make getting started in Cheqbook easier, but you would still need to
view any old transactions in Quickbooks.Which is more useful in your case?

We don't have the following features.
- Writing an arbitrary check. You need to create a bill first.
- Making a journal entry. You can make a manual entry in the account of your choosing by entering the details in the bottom row of the register.
- Payroll Summary Report. We don't offer payroll services at this time. We are in the process of trying to integrate with other companies on this.
You can add an account using the steps below.
